Catherine Minard was born in France and developed a deep fascination with India during her teenage years, a country she only discovered first-hand later in life. A polyglot and trained teacher of English and French, she also spent several years in the United Kingdom. After nearly two decades of travelling across India, she felt compelled to tell the remarkable story of the enduring bond between France and India, forged through the sacrifice of Indian soldiers who fought and died on French soil in the cause of freedom and peace.
